Universities South Africa (USAF) Matriculation Board Exemption for degree studies provide an indication of whether or not you are eligible for exemption towards degree studies in South Africa. A certificate is usually issued in this regard.

PLEASE NOTE:  THE EXEMPTION FEE IS NON-REFUNDABLE.  IF YOU OBTAINED YOUR NSC POST-2008 AND DID NOT COMPLETE A POST-SCHOOL QUALIFICATION PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR EXEMPTION AS YOUR EXEMPTION TYPE IS INDICATED ON THE CERTIFICATE. EXEMPTION FOR DEGREE STUDIES IS NEEDED FOR APPLICANTS WHO INTEND TO REGISTER AT: A SOUTH AFRICAN UNIVERSITY ORAN AFFILIATED PRIVATE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION.

HOW TO APPLY FOR USAF EXEMPTION

Start with these steps to complete the USAF application form for exemption

Start the online application at the following link: http://mbit-application.usaf.ac.za/assessment/

  • Follow the steps to apply for an exemption. Make sure you understand all the requirements before starting the process of applying.
  • Please note that you need to complete the first step, the online assessment, before being able to proceed with the remaining steps.

USAF APPLICATION FORM ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Completing the assessment will provide an indication of whether or not you are eligible for exemption towards degree studies in South Africa and WILL NOT necessarily result in an exemption certificate.

If the results indicate that you are not eligible, the necessary steps towards exemption will be provided.
